2nd Line IT Support Engineer | £40,000 | City of London
Permanent | Full-time | Office-based
Good IT support is about more than fixing technical problems. It's about helping people, taking ownership and being someone your colleagues can rely on.
We're looking for an experienced 2nd Line IT Support Engineer to join an established organisation with an excellent team culture and a supportive internal IT department.
This opportunity would suit someone who enjoys hands-on technical work, wants to be part of a close-knit team and takes genuine pride in delivering a great service.
What You'll Be Doing
You'll take responsibility for resolving escalated IT support issues, supporting colleagues and contributing to the smooth operation of the company's technology environment.
You'll work with:
- Microsoft technologies: Windows 11, Microsoft 365, Exchange Online, Teams, SharePoint and OneDrive.
- Identity and access: Active Directory, Microsoft Entra ID and user administration.
- Networking: DNS, DHCP, TCP/IP, Wi-Fi and VPN troubleshooting.
- Infrastructure and security: Device management, patching, endpoint protection and technical improvements.
You'll also have the chance to get involved in IT projects and expand your technical knowledge.
What You'll Bring
We're looking for someone with proven, hands-on 2nd Line IT support experience who can confidently troubleshoot technical issues without constant supervision.
You'll have strong Microsoft 365 and Active Directory knowledge, solid networking fundamentals and the ability to communicate effectively with colleagues at all levels.
Experience with Intune, Azure, Windows Server or endpoint security would be useful, but isn't essential.
Just as importantly, you'll be approachable, positive, dependable and a genuine team player.
Why Consider This Opportunity?
- £40,000 salary and an attractive benefits package.
- A friendly, knowledgeable and supportive team.
- A stable, permanent role within an established business.
- Varied technical challenges and opportunities to broaden your experience.
- Exposure to modern Microsoft technologies and IT improvement projects.
- A working environment where your contribution and attitude matter.
Location: City of London — five days per week in the office.
This isn't a hybrid or remote position, so you'll need to be comfortable working on-site.
You must have unrestricted right to work in the UK.
