Our client, a freight forwarder is looking for a Multi Modal Operations Manager to join their office in Egham. The post-holder will be responsible for:
- Managing day-to-day multimodal freight operations across air, road and sea, including owning jobs from start to finish, including:
- quoting,
- raising files,
- completion of jobs- including Customs,
- arranging transport,
- ensuring both the file and BoxTop system are fully up to date with all relevant information, including accrual of all costs, prior to final billing,
- Planning and optimising freight routes to balance cost, speed, and reliability
- Overseeing relationships with carriers, freight forwarders, customs brokers, and third-party logistics providers (3PLs)
- Ensuring compliance with UK and international customs regulations, including HMRC requirements, import/export controls, and where relevant, IATA or IMO rules
- Managing freight documentation
- Monitoring KPIs such as on-time delivery, cost per shipment, cargo damage rates, and carrier performance
- Identifying and managing risks including delays, capacity constraints, and geopolitical disruptions
- Driving continuous improvement across processes and systems
