Our client, a freight forwarder, is looking for an Ocean Import Operator to join their office in South West London.
Job entails:
- Dealing with quotes/bookings/queries on Cross trades business
- Issuing Quotations and following up quotations made for Containers, Break bulk (Commodity trades, Timber FOT rates) & RORO
- Process bookings via telephone and email, from UK customers/Traders and Local Line POL agents. Confirming booking details back to the customer, informing them of special requirements or restrictions, ensuring Credit worthiness
- Entering Bill of Lading details and adding where needed manifests details into the company’s bespoke system
- Dealing with COD, Switch Bills, Indemnities for cargo release
- Telephone sales
- General enquiries relating to quotes/bookings/scheduling
- Dealing with and resolving queries promptly
- Credit control
- Processing and adding all transport data for container deliveries
- Processing PIN and Badge releases in Destin8
- General client liaison
- Liaising with the Port and Port offices
- General departmental clerical work
- Any other tasks that management may deem necessary to fulfil the Job role
