Our client, a freight forwarder is looking for a Import Operator to join their office in Chelmsford. Tasks * Liaison with customers/ overseas agents/partners, inter-company offices & related parties. * Creation and/or update of job files within the company operating system, Cargowise. * Preparation/Presentation of Import Customs Entries * Booking deliveries with carriers, co-loaders and/or hauliers. * Preparing spreadsheets and Invoices. * Responsible for collection of all monies for non-credit accounts in liaison with the Accounts department. * Collection of all VAT and/or Duty in advance of release where applicable. * Develop a professional working relationship with other offices, clients, and suppliers. * Filing – Electronic Health, Safety & Welfare – To promote and maintain their own as defined in the Company H&S * Quality Management – Strive to maintain quality within the organisation and alert the Operations Supervisor or Director of any issues or risks . * Other ad-hoc tasks, as required/requested Skills * Effective communication at all levels, both internally and externally. * Organised (prioritise/plan/assign/control) * Ability to initiative * Adaptable and flexible * Good presentation skills. * Builds lasting and profitable relationships with both clients and sub-contractors. * Demonstrates an understanding of our customers and gives priority to meeting their needs by providing effective customer led solutions. * Uses system to generate meaningful information and increase efficiency. * Profit Focused * Meticulous attention to detail. * Competent in processing large amounts of data quickly and accurately. * Pragmatic approach to (and) problem solving and decision making skills and takes responsibility and ownership for implementation
