Our client, a freight forwarder is looking for a Freight Operator to join their office in Barking. We’re looking for a proactive and detail-oriented Freight Operations Coordinator to join our team and take ownership of inbound shipments across ocean and air freight. This is a full-time, office-based role in Barking and is focused purely on freight operations and shipment management — no customs clearance responsibilities involved.
Key Responsibilities
- Manage end-to-end import shipments (FCL, LCL air freight) from pre-alert through to delivery
- Liaise with overseas agents, carriers, hauliers, and warehouses
- Monitor shipment progress and proactively resolve delays or issues
- Coordinate deliveries to ensure smooth final mile execution
- Track and control operational costs (freight, handling, ancillary charges)
- Provide clear and timely updates to customers
- Follow internal SOPs to ensure consistent and efficient operations
