Our client, a freight forwarder is looking for an Air Import Operator to join their office in Feltham.
Job Duties:
- Start to Finish Job
- Able to attend to quotations on request
- Experience in handling all types of Customs Entries from CITEs, Live Animals to TIB
- Liaise regularly with overseas offices, partners, or agents
- Responsible for arranging and completing all associated paperwork, which documents the nature of the goods being imported from abroad and that they are legal and legitimate
- Check all is in order in this respect to import quotas, tariffs, trade agreements and HM Revenue and Customs regulations
- Responsible for costing jobs and ensuring maximum profitability for the organization
- Establishing contacts and relationships with HM Customs to ensure efficient transfer of goods through the legal process
- Manage deadlines and sometimes difficult situations, therefore an element of negotiation is required to be able to meet timescales
- Able to work on own initiative as well as part of a team
Must have experience / skills:
- Minimum 5 years working in both Import Department in a Freight Forwarding Company
- Knowledge of all Customs Clearances regimes and regulations including European origins
- Confident client facing
