SEMH Level 3 Teaching Assistant – Make a Real Difference in Young Lives
Are you patient, resilient, and passionate about helping young people overcome challenges? We’re partnering with a welcoming, inclusive specialist school in Oldham to recruit a dedicated SEMH Teaching Assistant. This is your chance to make a lasting impact on pupils who need guidance, stability, and encouragement to thrive.
Your Role
- Provide 1:1 and small group support for pupils with SEMH and behavioural needs (general Teaching Assistant duties)
- Assist teachers with lesson delivery, behaviour management, and tailored interventions.
- Promote positive routines, emotional regulation, and resilience throughout the school day.
- Track progress and maintain clear communication with staff and families.
The successful SEMH Level 3 Teaching Assistant will have
- Experience supporting children or young people with SEMH/behavioural needs (school, care, or youth work).
- A calm, empathetic, and proactive approach to behaviour management.
- Strong communication and relationship-building skills.
- Understanding of SEMH and SEND strategies.
- Relevant qualifications in education, care, or support (desirable but not essential).
Requirements
- Right to work in the UK.
- Enhanced DBS on the update service (or willingness to apply).
- Two professional references (Education related preferred).
