We are seeking a compassionate and dedicated Senior Support Worker to join our children’s residential service in Rochdale, supporting a young person in a nurturing, structured environment. Key Responsibilities
- Support the young person with daily living activities, promoting independence and confidence
- Develop and implement tailored care plans to meet individual needs
- Provide support during educational, recreational, and social activities
- Transport the young person to school, appointments, and activities as required
- Maintain accurate records of progress, incidents, and daily logs in line with organisational policies
- Communicate effectively with families, colleagues, and external professionals
- Contribute to a safe, supportive, and nurturing home environment
- Utilise IT systems for documentation, reporting, and communication
- Uphold safeguarding standards and promote the welfare of the young person at all times
Requirements
- Minimum age of 22 years (in line with Ofsted regulations)
- NVQ Level 3 Diploma in Children and Young People’s Workforce (or equivalent)
- At least 2 years’ experience in residential childcare supporting young people
- Full UK manual driving licence
- Strong understanding of safeguarding and child protection practices
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team
