We are seeking an experienced part‑time tutor to provide Functional Skills English and Maths to a secondary‑age learner in a community‑based setting. This role would suit a qualified teacher who is confident delivering individualised tuition and supporting young people with additional needs.
Role Purpose
To deliver high‑quality Functional Skills English and Maths tuition to a secondary‑age pupil, tailoring learning to meet individual needs and support progress and confidence.
Key Responsibilities
- Deliver Functional Skills English and Maths sessions on a one‑to‑one basis
- Plan and adapt sessions to suit the learner's needs and abilities
- Create a calm, supportive, and consistent learning environment
- Monitor progress and provide feedback as required
- Work collaboratively with parents and professionals where appropriate
Essential Requirements
- Qualified Teacher Status (QTS)
- Experience of delivering Functional Skills English and Maths
- Experience working with secondary‑age pupils
- Experience supporting learners with ASC
- Experience working with young people who have experienced trauma
- Strong communication and relationship‑building skills
Hours & Availability
- 10 hours per week
- Sessions to take place across Monday, Wednesday, Thursday and Friday
- Delivery required between 11:00am and 4:00pm
- Ability to spread hours across the available days is essential
