Are you ready to make a real difference in the lives of children and young people? We’re looking for a dedicated and compassionate Registered Manager to lead a residential children’s home in Nelson. This is a role for someone who brings patience, empathy, leadership, and a strong sense of responsibility to everything they do. The ideal candidate will be committed to creating a safe, nurturing, and structured environment where children can feel secure, supported, and encouraged to thrive.
Duties
- Manage the daily operations of the children's care unit, ensuring compliance with regulatory standards.
- Develop, implement, and review individual care plans tailored to each child's needs.
- Supervise and support staff in delivering high-quality care, providing training and guidance as necessary.
- Liaise with families, healthcare professionals, and external agencies to ensure holistic support for each child.
- Maintain accurate records of care provided, incidents, and any changes in health or behaviour.
- Conduct regular assessments of children's needs and adjust care plans accordingly.
- Promote a safe, nurturing environment that encourages children's development and wellbeing.
Experience
- Level 5 Diploma in Leadership for Health and Social Care and Children and Young People’s Services; or equivalent or preparedness to work towards the same.
- Demonstrate commitment to continuing professional development.
- Proven experience in managing a team within a nursing home, senior care facility, or similar environment.
- Strong understanding of care home regulations and best practices in child welfare.
- Excellent communication skills with the ability to engage effectively with children, families, and staff.
- Experience in developing care plans that meet individual needs is essential.
