Driver's Mate – Furniture Home Delivery Company based in Dartford Crossing, Kent Temporary ongoing role Paying £16.47 per hour Rotating Shift Pattern - * Week 1: Monday to Friday * Week 2: Tuesday to Saturday We're looking for experienced Driver's Mates to join a fast-paced, professional furniture home delivery operation based at Dartford Crossing. If you enjoy being on the move, working as part of a two-person crew, delivering outstanding customer service, and taking pride in every delivery, we'd love to hear from you. Every day is different. You'll visit multiple customer locations, deliver quality furniture into customers' homes, and use the latest handheld technology to ensure a smooth and efficient delivery experience. Your Responsibilities * Work alongside your driver to complete a busy home delivery schedule. * Deliver furniture safely into customers' homes with care and professionalism. * Lift, carry, and manoeuvre large and heavy items using safe manual handling techniques. * Assemble furniture where required and position it in customers' homes. * Use a handheld PDA system to manage deliveries, capture customer signatures, update delivery statuses, and record any delivery notes in real time. * Provide customers with delivery updates and deliver exceptional customer service from arrival to completion. * Carry out vehicle loading and unloading, ensuring items are secure and organised for each route. * Perform delivery checks and ensure the correct products are delivered to every customer. * Maintain high standards of health and safety while working in customers' homes and on the road. * Work efficiently to meet delivery schedules while maintaining quality and professionalism. What We're Looking For * Previous experience as a Driver's Mate, Furniture Porter, Home Delivery Assistant, or in a similar role. * Experience using a PDA or handheld scanning device is an advantage. * Physically fit and comfortable with heavy lifting throughout the day. * A positive attitude with excellent customer service skills. * Reliable, punctual, and able to work effectively as part of a team. * Strong attention to detail and a commitment to delivering excellent service. * Able to travel to Dartford Crossing for a 6:00am start.
