Location: Hixon plus Hybrid Working (Site-Based During Training, Then Home-Based with Occasional Site Attendance)

About the Role
We are seeking a motivated and detail-oriented Purchasing Administrator / Buyer to join our Purchasing team.
This is an excellent opportunity for someone with purchasing or supply chain experience, ideally within a manufacturing environment, who enjoys building supplier relationships, managing priorities, and ensuring materials are available to support production requirements.
Following an initial site-based training period, the role will offer a hybrid working arrangement with home working available and site attendance required as needed.
Key Responsibilities
- Manage a portfolio of materials and suppliers.
- Respond to material shortages and exception messages in line with production demand.
- Raise purchase orders and expedite overdue deliveries.
- Obtain supplier quotations and support benchmarking and negotiation activities.
- Liaise with internal departments and external suppliers to ensure smooth supply chain operations.
- Maintain accurate purchasing and supplier data within company systems.
- Process internal requests for consumables and miscellaneous items.
- Provide general administrative support to the Purchasing team.
- Assist in resolving supply-related issues and support continuous improvement initiatives.
About You
To be successful in this role, you will have
- Previous experience within a purchasing, procurement, or supply chain role.
- Manufacturing industry experience (preferred).
- Strong verbal and written communication skills.
- Excellent numerical skills and a high level of attention to detail.
- Good working knowledge of Microsoft Excel and Outlook.
- The ability to prioritise workloads and manage multiple tasks effectively.
- Strong problem-solving skills and a proactive approach.
- Confidence when dealing with suppliers and internal stakeholders.
- The ability to work independently as well as part of a team.
Desirable
- CIPS qualification or currently studying towards CIPS.
- Experience using ERP/MRP systems.
