Overview

This role is hands-on, supporting a small senior team of consultants, designing, planning, costing and operating tours.

Responsibilities

  • Managing and supporting a small senior team of consultants.
  • Designing, planning, costing and operating tours.
  • Sourcing and liaising directly with European suppliers (hotels, restaurants, etc.).
  • Working with DMCs in Europe and beyond.
  • Liaising with US clients, including pitching for new business and client documentation.
  • Responsible for tour and team finances.
  • Writing itineraries and other promotional material (InDesign).
  • Overseeing processing of client bookings and documentation (Microsoft, CRM system).
  • Offering office support when colleagues are abroad.
  • Booking flights (Galileo or similar).
  • Website management (WordPress).
  • Being a team player.
  • Ensuring all arrangements run smoothly and according to plan.
  • Being responsible for the welfare of the party as well as daily logistics.
  • Working with expert lecturers and/or local guides.
  • Coping calmly and efficiently with any issues that arise – from lost baggage to medical emergencies.

Qualifications

  • Management experience.
  • Background in Art History / History / interest in gardens.
  • Working knowledge of at least one European language (ideally Italian or Spanish).
  • Attention to detail.
  • Good verbal and written communication skills.
  • Good judgement, initiative, and imagination.
  • Ability to deal with complex projects, multitask and prioritise.
  • Strong decision-making under pressure.
  • Diplomatic, patient and calm demeanor.

Package

£50,000 per annum, £200 per day whilst on tour. Three days in the office and two at home. Offices open from 9:00 a.m. to 5:30 p.m., Monday to Friday.
