As the Venue Manager at Highbury, you are responsible for overseeing the daily operations of the venue, ensuring efficiency, profitability, and a seamless customer experience. Your leadership will drive sales and operational efficiency, uphold the brand’s standards, and develop a high-performing team that delivers exceptional service

Key Responsibilities:

Lead, motivate, and develop a team, ensuring all staff are trained to deliver a world-class customer experience

Oversee recruitment, onboarding, and continuous staff development to ensure high standards across the venue

Set clear responsibilities, delegate tasks, and set sales targets for the team

Provide regular performance feedback and conduct personal development meetings

2. Commercial Management:

Take responsibility for meeting and exceeding sales targets, driving revenue, and managing the venue budget

Monitor performance against monthly, quarterly, and annual targets, including wage cost management

Ensure that financial metrics, including stock control and cost management, meet the set goals

Report daily to the management team on venue performance and challenges

3. Customer Experience & Service Excellence:

Ensure customer service exceeds expectations, dealing with customer queries and complaints promptly

Lead by example to maintain a welcoming and efficient atmosphere

Ensure staff consistently meet the service standards defined by the brand

4. Inventory & Stock Management:

Control inventory, including daily and weekly stock counts, ensuring stock is rotated according to season

Lead initiatives to increase sales through visual merchandising and targeted promotions

Implement best practices in loss prevention and stock control, ensuring proper handling of damaged goods

Ensure all customer orders are fulfilled promptly and within the committed timeframes

Coordinate local and national deliveries, ensuring that logistics are handled efficiently and orders reach customers on time

Oversee the packaging and dispatch of products to ensure proper care and attention to detail

Work closely with the operations team to streamline the fulfillment process and achieve cost and efficiency improvements

Maintain a high level of organization to manage stock for fulfillment while meeting delivery schedules

6. Website Maintenance & Product Development:

Oversee the day-to-day operation of the online store, ensuring that the website is up-to-date, merchandised appropriately, and fully functional

Launch new products on the website, ensuring all product descriptions, images, and pricing are accurate and compelling

Collaborate with the team to create new products that align with customer demand and seasonal trends

Regularly update the website with fresh content and product offerings to keep the online store engaging and aligned with brand standards

Work closely with the marketing and operations teams to ensure the seamless integration of online and in-store offerings

7. Health, Safety & Compliance:

Ensure that all staff are trained and adhere to health and safety protocols

Oversee daily operational safety, including security measures, risk assessments, and staff wellbeing

Maintain an up-to-date record of any necessary legal testing and certifications

8. Marketing & Social Media:

Create and oversee content for social media to enhance the venue\’s online presence

Develop and implement in-house promotions to drive customer engagement and sales

Collaborate with the marketing team to create branded marketing materials

Skills & Qualifications:

2 years of experience in a retail supervisor/manager role

Proven ability to drive sales and meet KPIs

Strong communication, organisational, and team leadership skills

Experience managing stock, sales, fulfillment, and customer service

Positive attitude, excellent attention to detail, and proactive problem-solving skills

Ability to manage multiple tasks in a fast-paced environment
