The Role

As a Dimensional Calibration Engineer, you will be responsible for ensuring precision measuring equipment is accurate, reliable, and compliant with industry standards. You will test, calibrate, adjust, repair, and certify a range of measuring instruments used across manufacturing, engineering, aerospace, medical, and industrial sectors.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Calibrating dimensional measuring equipment including calipers, micrometers, gauges, dial indicators, and height gauges
  • Testing instruments against certified reference standards
  • Identifying and rectifying measurement errors
  • Carrying out minor repairs and adjustments where required
  • Producing calibration certificates and technical reports
  • Maintaining accurate records in line with ISO9001 and UKAS requirements
  • Supporting customers with technical queries when required

What We're Looking For:

  • Previous experience within calibration, metrology, quality inspection, or precision engineering
  • Strong understanding of dimensional calibration principles and measurement techniques
  • Knowledge of measurement uncertainty, traceability, and calibration standards
  • A relevant engineering qualification (HNC, HND, NVQ, BTEC Level 3+, or equivalent)
  • Excellent attention to detail and accuracy
  • Good IT and record-keeping skills
  • A proactive and customer-focused approach
