What you'll be doing
- You'll be the driving force behind product quality and safety across the site, working closely with suppliers and leading a well-equipped quality team.
- Key responsibilities include:
- Leading and managing the quality team
- Training staff on quality standards, processes, and product specifications
- Implementing and monitoring quality control systems and procedures
- Maintaining active grower communications—celebrating the good and addressing the challenges
- Embedding a culture of continuous improvement and quality awareness
- Ensuring compliance with food safety standards (HACCP, BRC, customer protocols)
- Supporting internal and external audits (BRC, retailer audits)
- Ensuring all produce meets customer, retailer, and legislative specifications
- Maintaining accurate inspection, rejection, and corrective action records
- Collaborating with procurement, production, warehouse, commercial teams, and suppliers
- Identifying and escalating quality issues, driving corrective actions
- Providing regular quality performance reports and recommending improvements
- Contributing to supplier performance reviews and product specification updates
Education & Experience
- HACCP Level 3 Lead Auditor qualification (advantageous but not essential)
