Overview

We are seeking a skilled and dedicated Plant Fitter to join our team. This role involves working on a wide range of plant machinery, including excavators, dumpers, loading shovels, telehandlers, and more. Salary: £39,000-£41,000 basic; 40 hour week, overtime availability, overtime rate 1.5x and 2x; 31 days holiday, pension scheme, and more.

Responsibilities

  • Conduct maintenance, servicing, and repairs on a variety of plant machinery, including excavators, dumpers, loading shovels, and telehandlers.
  • Diagnose and troubleshoot mechanical, hydraulic, and electrical faults.
  • Ensure all machinery is maintained to the highest standards to minimize downtime.
  • Maintain accurate records of all work carried out, including parts used and time spent.
  • Adhere to health and safety regulations and company policies at all times.
  • Collaborate with the team to ensure efficient workflow and timely completion of tasks.

Qualifications

  • NVQ Level 3 in Plant Maintenance or equivalent qualification (essential).
  • Proven experience working with plant machinery, including excavators, dumpers, and telehandlers.
  • Strong knowledge of mechanical, hydraulic, and electrical systems.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
  • A proactive and safety-conscious approach to work.

Day-to-Day

  • Perform routine maintenance and servicing of plant machinery in the workshop.
  • Diagnose and repair faults to ensure machinery is operational and safe to use.
  • Collaborate with colleagues to prioritize and complete tasks efficiently.
  • Maintain a clean and organized workshop environment.
  • Provide technical support and advice to team members when required.
