The Eye Tooth is expanding its hours! We are looking for hardworking and friendly individuals to join our kitchen crew! Evening, daytime, and weekend positions available.

As a Line Cook, your main focus is to prepare and create delicious, high-quality food that follows the Tooth Company's recipes and accommodates customer preferences. You will work closely with both front- and back-of-house teams to ensure our guests have a fantastic dining experience. Line Cooks must maintain a clean work environment and follow company hygiene and dress code policies to ensure food safety. Join us for a fun and fulfilling opportunity!

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS

Duties & Responsibilities:

  • Adhere to all safety, sanitation, and policy procedures
  • Extensive knowledge of menu items and ingredients
  • Read printed tickets carefully with attention to detail
  • Accurately produce orders following recipe guidelines and ticket specifications
  • Monitor temperature and cooking times while taking personal pride in every item delivered for service
  • Operate kitchen equipment safely
  • Proper handling and rotation of food according to food service codes
  • Promptly report equipment and food quality issues to a Manager
  • Communicate clearly and professionally with all staff in the restaurant
  • Complete all opening, closing, and side duties
  • Assist with dishwashing and other cleaning tasks as needed
  • Work as a team with your fellow co-workers and treat each other with kindness and respect
Requirements:

Must be 16 years of age or older with a Municipality of Anchorage Food Worker Card (or willing to obtain one). Experience is preferred; however, this is a teaching kitchen, and we are willing to take on the right candidate with a positive attitude in place of experience.

  • Stand for the duration of the shift with minimal breaks
  • Work in noisy, fast-paced environments with distracting conditions
  • Lift and Carry 30+ lbs
  • Work in hot and humid environments
  • Have good manual dexterity, coordination, and stamina
  • Self-motivation and the ability to manage time and accomplish tasks with accuracy and efficiency
  • Multitask and retain multiple called ticket items
  • Basic knowledge of kitchen terminology and knife skills
