Overview
Senior Store Assistant (keyholder) in Hull Willerby — 20 hours per week. We are looking for candidates who live locally and can easily commute to our store. Our stores are open from 7 AM to 8 PM, so you must be able to manage early starts and late finishes. This is more than just a store job. At Toolstation, we\’re focused on helping you grow with us. Many of our managers started out on the shop floor and now run their own stores or oversee operations. You\’ll be the friendly face of Toolstation, helping customers find what they need, but you\’ll also be hands-on with deliveries, warehouse tasks, and stocking shelves. Be prepared to roll up your sleeves! It can get hot in summer and chilly in winter, but if you care about doing a good job and providing great customer service, you\’ll fit right in.
This is a position with accountability for supporting colleagues to deliver a great customer experience, so whilst retail is not essential, you will need some experience of either being a key holder or supervising team members.
What you’ll do
- Handle deliveries, unpack stock, keep the store clean, and prepare orders.
- Provide outstanding service: chat with customers and stay efficient during busy times to deliver a great experience.
- Ask the right questions: show genuine interest in customers\’ projects to help them find everything they need.
- Be proactive: sell the benefits of Toolstation Club and Trade Accounts and sign customers up for deals and competitive prices.
- Keyholder responsibility: open and close the store, assign daily tasks to the team, and provide short-term supervisory cover when needed.
