The New Account Controller will play a key role within the Trade Credit department, supporting the business by assessing the creditworthiness of individuals and companies. The primary responsibilities include conducting credit checks to ensure sound credit decisions and helping to raise daily invoices in a timely and accurate manner.
The role requires a high degree of confidence in decision-making, excellent communication skills (both written and verbal), and strong attention to detail. The ideal candidate will be comfortable working independently and collaboratively, demonstrating sound judgement in assessing credit risks.
Proficiency in Microsoft Office is essential, particularly in Microsoft Excel, as the role involves handling and analysing data to support credit decisions.
Some accountabilities of the role include:
- Running confidential searches on individuals/companies and using company criteria to decide on credit offerings.
- Capturing clear and concise notes on all decisions via shared spreadsheets and credit management platform.
- Following best practices to minimize risk of fraudulent activities.
- Corresponding with customers via email or phone to request further information professionally and promptly.
- Working towards and meeting daily targets.
- Contributing to daily departmental tasks.
- Collaborating with the Contact Centre, Retail, and Finance teams to handle customer queries.
- Following processes to raise and process invoices for customers daily.
