What you\\\’ll do
Hybrid – Midlands & North
Ideally based in the Midlands with travel across the region.
This is a hybrid role, with time split between our various office locations, working at home and out on site – so you\\\’ll need to be happy travelling across your region and sometimes staying overnight.
Are you looking to build a career in property and estates management? Maybe you\\\’re a property graduate ready to take your first big step, or already working in asset management and looking for a fresh challenge. Either way, if you\\\’re organised, up for a bit of travel, and enjoy getting stuck in – we\\\’ve got just the role for you.
We\\\’re looking for an Assistant Asset Manager to join our busy Property team here at Toolstation, part of the Travis Perkins Group. This is a hybrid role where you\\\’ll help manage our store estate across the Midlands and North – making sure everything runs smoothly, from lease events and landlord negotiations to maintenance issues and store disposals.
You\’ll be working with all sorts of people, from landlords and surveyors to store managers and contractors, so it\\\’s a role for someone who\\\’s confident with people, good at problem-solving, and happy managing a few moving parts.
This is a varied and hands-on role where no two days are the same.
- Support the day-to-day management of a chunk of our UK store estate – building relationships with landlords, managing agents, and neighbouring occupiers to resolve any issues.
- Help manage rent reviews, lease renewals, and break options – working with external consultants to get deals over the line.
- Keep on top of lease events and budgets, making sure we\\\’re spending wisely and getting good value.
- Get involved in the process of closing and exiting stores – from sorting out legal notices to organising strip-outs and disposals.
- Be the go-to person for property-related maintenance queries, working closely with our FM team to get things fixed.
- Work with teams across Construction, Finance and Retail to spot opportunities for improvement and help deliver asset projects.
What you\\\’ll bring
We\\\’re open to a mix of backgrounds. Maybe you\\\’ve got some experience in property or estates already, or you\\\’re a graduate with a real interest in the world of real estate. Either way, we\\\’d love to hear from you if you:
- Are organised and methodical, with great attention to detail
- Can build great relationships and get on well with all sorts of people
- Feel comfortable juggling different tasks and projects
- Are confident dealing with external consultants, landlords and agents
- Are curious and keen to learn – especially about leases, property law and how commercial estates work
- Are happy travelling across the Midlands and North
What you\\\’ll get
This is a great role to grow your career in a friendly, down-to-earth team where you\\\’ll learn loads and get stuck into real work from day one. You\\\’ll also get:
- Competitive salary and car or car allowance
- Hybrid working – home, office and field
- Company pension and life assurance
- Colleague discount across Toolstation and the wider Travis Perkins Group
- Access to a wide range of rewards and wellbeing support
- Career development opportunities across the Group
