We are currently looking to recruit a Senior Design Engineer to join a growing consultancy delivering a wide range of technically interesting projects across the UK. This role offers the opportunity to take ownership of design projects while supporting the development of junior engineers within a collaborative and forward-thinking environment. The business is keen to attract an ambitious Senior Design Engineer who is motivated to develop their career, with a clear pathway towards Chartered Engineer (CEng) status supported through structured training and mentoring.
M&E services sit at the heart of every building we see, enter, and work within. Electrical systems are critical to ensuring buildings operate safely, efficiently, and comfortably.

Engineers work across RIBA Stages 2-5+, delivering full lifecycle design and consultancy services alongside specialist technical support such as:
- Lighting calculations
- Cable sizing (Amtech)
- Containment design
- Design reviews and site inspections
As a Senior Design Engineer, you will take responsibility for delivering a range of building services projects from concept through to completion. You will be trusted to work independently, manage design activities, and contribute to the successful delivery of projects within time, cost, and quality expectations.
Key Responsibilities- Deliver electrical design projects with minimal supervision
- Manage workload and support team resource planning to meet deadlines
- Work within defined project plans and coordinate with stakeholders
- Translate client briefs into practical and innovative design solutions
- Produce and review electrical building services designs
- Ensure accuracy and quality of design outputs
- Work within project scope, programme, and budget constraints
- Support and mentor junior engineers
- Delegate tasks and monitor progress
- Act as a key point of contact within project teams
- Build and maintain strong client relationships
- Identify opportunities for additional work
- Support fee proposals, variations, and project documentation
- Understand commercial and contractual project risks
Professional development is a key focus, with full support for engineers progressing towards Chartered Engineer status.
What We’re Looking For- Experience as a Design Engineer within building services or similar
- Experience using software such as Amtech, Dialux/Relux, and AutoCAD/Revit
