About the role:

Reporting into Scan Safety Head of Sales, the Business Development Manager is a national role, covering the UK & Ireland. The successful candidate would preferably be familiar with PPE and safety related products, demonstrating their experience when it comes to selling these items or ranges. We are looking for the type of individual who can implement a creative approach when developing our current business as well as seeking out new opportunities. To ensure that business and relationships with nominated customer accounts are maintained, developed, and strengthened, with the overall aim of exceeding all agreed sales targets.

  • Generate and build new business for all agreed target markets.
  • Research and target adjacent markets to maximise growth.
  • As this is a national role, the successful candidate must be prepared to travel & stay away from home on a regular basis.

You’ll have a positive outlook that will help you thrive in the achievement of the following daily responsibilities:

  • Drive sales growth promoting products/services to existing and prospective customers, whilst adhering to set price margins, to increase overall sales value.
  • Achieve all sales targets set by the company, including annual, monthly, promotional, product, account and initiatives, to drive business forward.
  • Manage multiple accounts simultaneously, understand customer needs identifying new sales and new customer opportunities, to increase sales revenue and customer base.
  • Identify new leads through networking and other lead generating techniques, to increase market share.

What are we looking for?

  • Proven successful sales history and key account management experience (minimum 5 years’ experience, essential).
  • Sales Presentation, Negotiation and ‘Closing’ skills (essential).
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills.
  • Good analytical skills.
  • A self‑motivated, ambitious individual with the ability to build and successfully execute Sales Plans.
  • Ability to work independently, and as part of a team.
  • Ability to demonstrate exceptional ingenuity in problem‑solving, consistently finding innovative solutions to complex challenges and improving processes to enhance overall efficiency.
  • Acts as a professional ambassador for the business.
