Automotive Technician

We’re looking for an enthusiastic and driven Vehicle Technician to join our busy workshop team.

The role

As a Vehicle Technician, your responsibilities will include:

• Diagnosing vehicle faults and identifying the appropriate repair
• Carrying out routine servicing, maintenance and repairs to a high standard
• Servicing vehicles in line with Vauxhall and Jeep manufacturer schedules
• Road testing vehicles where required to diagnose faults or confirm successful repairs
• Completing routine vehicle inspections and accurately recording findings
• Recording job times accurately, either manually or electronically
• Following the correct procedures for ordering parts and returning warranty components
• Attending vehicle breakdowns and recoveries where required
• Maintaining a clean, safe and organised workshop environment
• Working closely with colleagues and managers to support an efficient, positive workshop
• Supporting and guiding other team members where appropriate
• Maintaining and developing your technical knowledge and skills
• Attending manufacturer training courses as required
• Following all relevant health and safety procedures

What we’re looking for

You’ll need to be a qualified Level 3 Vehicle Technician, with good diagnostic and problem-solving skills and a commitment to delivering a consistently high standard of workmanship.

We’re looking for someone who is enthusiastic, reliable and takes pride in their work. You’ll be comfortable working independently when required, while also being a supportive member of a busy workshop team.

Good communication and a positive, professional approach are important, along with a willingness to keep developing your technical knowledge as vehicle technology continues to evolve.

Ideally, you will:

• Hold a Level 3 qualification in Vehicle Maintenance and Repair, or equivalent
• Have previous experience working as a Vehicle Technician
• Be confident carrying out servicing, maintenance, repairs and fault diagnosis
• Have a full UK driving licence
• Work accurately and efficiently while maintaining high standards
• Be dependable, organised and able to manage your workload
• Work well with colleagues across the workshop and wider dealership
• Be willing to undertake further manufacturer and technical training
• Live locally or within a reasonable commuting distance of the dealership
