- Communicate ideas clearly to mixed audiences.
- Demonstrate subject knowledge and apply it in the classroom.
- Manage classroom behaviour and support pupil progress.
- Plan lessons and assessment strategies.
Qualifications
To work as a teacher you need:
- Qualified Teacher Status (QTS).
- A post‑graduate teaching qualification (PGCE) or equivalent.
- For specialist roles: subject degree plus PGCE or SEN training.
Salary & Benefits
Salary ranges vary by level and location:
- Early Career Teacher: £31,650 (outside London), £36,745 (inner London).
- Experienced classroom teachers: £43,607‑£53,994.
- Leadership (Headship): £50,000‑£130,000+.

Recommended training courses include:
- Designated Safeguarding Lead (DSL) Training – 6 hours, £25.
- Safeguarding Children Level 3 – 4 hours, £25.
- English Language Teacher Job Ready Programme – 1 year, £499.
- Early Years Practitioner Job Ready Programme – 1 year, £499.
