The individual will be responsible for leading our global approach to renewables & energy storage market within power & energy sector, developing and delivering a strategy that supports future growth aspirations. This is a strategic director-level role within the power & energy sector with both UK and international remit. The individual will be a key member of the sector leadership team (SLT) tasked with delivering the business’s 5-year strategy for the sector.
Job Responsibilities:
- Deliver Work: Maintains oversight of delivery at portfolio level, working with local office sector leads, project directors, technical leads and project managers to support delivery as required. Works with technical leads and project teams to implement continuous improvement initiatives that enhance our service offering to clients. Supports technical peer review process within area of expertise. Identifies and supports development of new service lines.
- Win Work: Develops and maintains a sound understanding of market, including key prospective clients, projects, programmes and emerging technologies. Develops and owns market growth plan, including development of value propositions, partnerships and service lines to position Tony Gee strategically within market. Leads key account management by working to reinforce existing and form new relationships with key clients to realise market growth plan targets. Identifies, tracks and maintains leads and enquiries, ensuring these are captured accurately in market pipeline. Works with office sector and technical leads to assure our ability to deliver market pipeline. Leads business development and promotion of Tony Gee profile within market, representing the business at key industry events. Leads major bids and supports minor bids as required with business development and local office teams.
- Operations: Supports development of strategy for power & energy sector.
Reporting Lines: The Renewables & Energy Storage Lead will sit on the power & energy SLT and report directly to the Head of Power & Energy.
Location: Full time role based in any of our UK offices. Our typical working pattern is 3 days per week in the office and 2 days per week from home. Travel as required to other Tony Gee and client offices in both the UK and overseas.
Essential:
- Civil, structural or geotechnical engineering background.
- Significant experience in renewables project delivery at both front-end and detailed design stages.
- Firm grasp of renewables market, including risks and opportunities.
- Strong communication and influencing skills.
- Ability to develop and negotiate proposals directly with clients.
Qualifications:
- Civil/structural engineering degree or equivalent industry experience.
- Chartered Engineer or equivalent industry experience.
