Our UK offices are looking for a Senior Bridge Inspector who is BICS qualified to join their teams. The ideal candidate would have a proven track record of bridge inspections in the highway and/or rail sector. This role is a great opportunity to join a successful established team, working alongside some of the best engineers the industry has to offer. It will also bring the opportunity for developing our inspection services and mentoring our engineers and technicians.
Job Responsibilities
- Carry out General / Principal / Special inspections of bridges (and possibly other structures) in accordance with relevant standards (i.e. CS 450 & NR/L3/CIV/006).
- Support our current projects located across Southern England, flexibly working across the UK as required (hire car / travel and accommodation will be provided if and when appropriate).
- Prepare inspection reports and review inspection reports prepared by others.
- Provide support in the preparation of proposals and bids associated with inspection work.
- Provide support in managing our bridge inspection team and planning inspections.
- Create and contribute to delivery of a training programme to develop other staff pursuing BICS Bridge Inspector certification.
- Identify and manage risks for the work under your control to agreed acceptable levels.
Essential
- Certified Senior Bridge Inspector (SBI) with the Bridge Inspection Certification Scheme (BICS).
- Relevant access qualifications (e.g. PTS, National Highways Passport, PASMA).
- Proven track record of delivering inspection reports for clients (e.g. local authorities / national highways / network rail).
- Willing to mentor junior inspectors as they progress through the BICS inspector levels.
- Full and clean UK driving licence and business use car insurance.
Desirable
- Professional memberships to appropriate institutions.
- Ability to work on own and within a team to meet project, client, company and personal objectives.
Qualifications
- Certified Senior Bridge Inspector (SBI) with the Bridge Inspection Certification Scheme (BICS).
- Academic qualifications appropriate for the role.
