Job Summary
The successful candidate will be working on a variety of schemes within the Power & Energy and Highways sector. Power projects include onshore and offshore wind farms, grid connection infrastructure, public road improvements, and other highways elements supporting renewable energy infrastructure projects. This role offers opportunities to engage in technical design, multidisciplinary design management, and project management. It is suitable for those approaching chartered professional review or recently chartered with ICE or IHE.
- At least three years’ postgraduate experience
- Working knowledge of the Design Manual for Roads and Bridges (DMRB), council highways standards, and Manual of Contract Documents for Highway Works (MCDHW)
- Experience of highway/road drainage design
- Experience of highway/road alignment and earthworks design
- Ability to work within a team environment, managing junior team members’ daily work
- Experience designing SUDS (soakaways, swales, attenuation ponds) per UK SUDS Manual
- Experience in hydraulic modelling of surface water drainage networks and storage solutions
- Experience interfacing with local councils or Trunk Road Operators for design acceptance
- Proficiency in Civils 3D, CAD, and MicroDrainage software
- Experience in design management and project management
- Knowledge of SEPA guidelines, CAR regulations, and licensing
- Approaching or recently achieved chartered status with ICE or IHE
Qualifications:
- BEng or MEng in Civil Engineering or similar
