Tony Gee and Partners is seeking an experienced and visionary IT Director to lead the strategic development, governance, and delivery of technology across the business. The IT Director will be responsible for shaping and executing Tony Gee’s information technology strategy, ensuring that technology, data, and cyber security capabilities continue to support the organisation’s growth, innovation and client expectations. This senior leadership role will oversee the IT function, manage key technology partners, and ensure the business maintains a robust, secure, and scalable technology environment aligned with industry best practice, including Cyber Essentials Plus and ISO 27001.
Key Responsibilities
- Define and deliver the organisation’s IT strategy in alignment with business objectives.
- Provide leadership and direction to the IT function, ensuring high performance, innovation, and continuous improvement.
- Develop long-term technology roadmaps covering infrastructure, applications, data, and security.
- Lead the organisation’s information security strategy, ensuring compliance with ISO 27001 and maintaining the Information Security Management System (ISMS).
- Oversee risk management, security controls, and audit processes to ensure robust protection of company data and systems including business continuity and disaster recovery.
- Oversee asset management (hardware and software), and manage relationships with key technology partners and suppliers, ensuring service quality, value for money, and alignment with business needs.
- Oversee the delivery of IT services through our Managed Service Provider and other partners across all regions (UK and internationally), ensuring reliability, resilience, and excellent user experience.
- Ensure effective management and rapid resolution of critical IT issues, with clear communication to stakeholders.
- Evaluate emerging technologies and assess their potential to enhance business performance.
- Ensure the IT infrastructure is scalable, secure, and aligned with future business requirements.
- Lead IT budgeting, forecasting, and cost control, ensuring efficient use of resources.
- Oversee procurement of technology solutions, ensuring compliance, value, and alignment with strategic goals.
- Ensure software licensing is compliant, optimised, and cost-effective.
Qualifications
- A degree in a relevant field (Computer Science, Information Technology, Business Management, or related discipline).
- Extensive experience in senior IT leadership roles.
- Demonstrable experience managing enterprise-level IT strategy, security, and operations.
- Strong strategic thinking with the ability to translate business needs into effective technology solutions.
- Proven leadership experience managing IT teams, functions, and technology programmes.
- Deep understanding of information security frameworks, particularly ISO 27001.
- Excellent communication skills with the ability to explain complex concepts to non-technical audiences.
- Strong commercial awareness and experience managing budgets and supplier relationships.
- A track record of driving digital transformation and implementing change at scale.
