Tony Gee and Partners is seeking an experienced and commercially astute Financial Controller to join the Finance team based in either our Esher, Birmingham, Manchester or Glasgow office. The Financial Controller will report to senior leadership and be responsible for leading and strengthening Tony Gee’s financial operations across the global business. The successful candidate will have a broad range of responsibility across all aspects of finance in a growing organisation and is an exciting opportunity to be part of positive change as the team continues to develop.
Key Responsibilities
- Influential partner in design, implementation and production of financial reporting, processes, and systems
- Control the preparation of the monthly management accounts and annual reports, including cashflow management in line with reporting timetable
- Ensure clean balance sheet reconciliations are maintained monthly
- Perform in-depth analysis of business performance (costs, revenue, and margin)
- Proactively contributing to the identification, development and implementation of system efficiency improvements
- Liaise with auditors to meet fieldwork requirements and timelines
- Delegating preparation of required supporting schedules to appropriate team members and managing completion on schedule
- Supervise and mentor members of the Finance Team
Qualifications
- 5 years proven experience in senior finance role(s)
- Excellent technical accounting skills
- Highly organised, demonstrating the ability to prioritise and manage multiple tasks and deadlines
- Innovative approach to continuous improvement in systems, reporting and analysis
- Ability to communicate to non-financial specialists
- Gravitas to influence at all levels of the business
- Strong problem-solving skills
- Desire to provide succession to Finance Director at the appropriate time
- Project based business experience
- Experience working in growing organisations
