Tony Alan Recruitment currently has a new and exciting job opportunity for an Assistant Management Accountant to join an established and growing SME wholesale business on a permanent contract. This is a hands-on role, ideal for someone studying towards qualification, who enjoys working in a fast-paced wholesale environment and wants to continue developing their management accounting skills.
Key Responsibilities
- Preparation of monthly management accounts
- Post journals, accruals, and prepayments
- Daily reconcile bank, control, and balance sheet accounts
- Process purchase invoices and reconcile supplier statements
- Import sales invoices and reconcile against card payments
- Prepare quarterly VAT returns
- Support stock, margin, and cost reporting
- Assist with budgeting, forecasting, and variance analysis
- Maintain accurate and up-to-date financial records
- Provide general support to the finance team as required
- Liaise with suppliers and process invoice payments
- Various ad hoc project work
Key Skills
- Previous experience in management accounts
- Confident using Excel and accounting software (experience with Xero is a plus)
- Able to work to deadlines in a busy office environment
