The predicted salary is between 24000 - 36000 £ per year.
Hours: 4 or 5 days per week – to be discussed. Must hold HP/NVQL2 or above. You will be required to take part in our TONI&GUY Vardering program whilst adapting to the managerial role and building clients. This will require you to work 5 days a week at the start of your employment, but this can be evaluated after 6 months to go to the 4 day a week option should you require it. This will be performance based as well as considering the business needs. There is a bonus based on performance/targets which can only be set/started once fully vardered and back in the salon completely. There is also retail, treatment commissions plus (not guaranteed) £100-£700 per month in tips once qualified.
About The Role
Experienced, motivated, and creative Assistant Salon Manager to support the day-to-day running of a busy, professional hair salon whilst running a column of clients. An exciting opportunity for a talented stylist with leadership skills who’s ready to take the next step into management, helping lead our team, deliver exceptional client experiences, and contribute to the continued success and growth of the business.
Responsibilities
- Support the Salon Manager in daily operations, including team morale, scheduling, and client services.
- Lead by example on the salon floor, maintaining high-quality cut and colour services, consistent retail/treatment sales, client retention and overall performance.
- Manage staff sickness cover and client redistribution on the day.
- Monthly administrative duties, including checking staff registers and submitting them to accounts to ensure accurate payroll, completing health and safety record checks and reviewing attendance and training rotas for the following month.
- Weekly administrative duties including stock orders and approving holiday requests and ensuring adequate staffing levels.
- Motivate and inspire the team, uphold a positive salon environment.
- Oversee salon presentation, ensuring all areas reflect the brand’s professionalism.
- Help manage stock control and ensure cost efficiency.
- Support business performance tracking – monitoring numbers, figures, to later host KPI review/target meetings with team members.
- Maintain high standards of customer care and professionalism at all times.
Skills & Experience Required
- Minimum 5 years’ experience in hairdressing - references will be required.
- Cut and colour experience (L’Oréal experience preferred but not essential – training provided).
- You will also go through TONI&GUY’s own vardering program to ensure you are up to date with our techniques.
- Proven management or leadership experience in a salon environment.
- Excellent time management and multi-tasking skills.
- Confident working with both clients and business operations.
- Strong team motivation and creative leadership abilities.
- Keen attention to detail and commitment to maintaining high standards.
- An interest in the business side of the salon – understanding figures, targets, and growth metrics.
- A true passion for hairdressing and delivering exceptional results.
