Tonic have been chosen to source a roaming / relief chef for one of our client's contract catering businesses located in the North-West. The exact locations and business that you cover will depend on demand. You must be a driver and have your own vehicle. Working for this great company in this role could well lead to a position within a key site.
Due to the style of our clients' sites, the work is predominantly Mon-Fri daytime only. Role will include working at B&I sites along with independent schools, start times are around 7.00am until 3:30pm, 40 hours per week. Travel time would not form part of working hours; candidate must be willing to travel nationwide occasionally. A degree of flexibility will be required to work on the occasional evening function. Expenses paid at £0.35p per mile.

Responsibilities- Roaming/relief chef duties across B&I sites and independent schools as required.
- Lead kitchen activities with a focus on fresh, high-quality food.
- Manage kitchen operations and ensure consistency in food quality and presentation.
- Support financial aspects of the kitchen where applicable (e.g., cost control, portioning).
- Be flexible for occasional evening functions and nationwide travel as demand dictates.
- Drive own vehicle to locations as needed and manage travel logistics.
- Experience as a chef with leadership in a fresh food environment.
- Passionate about food, fresh produce, the kitchen, and cooking.
- Willingness to take on new challenges in a kitchen that values hard work, quality, dedication, and high standards without sacrificing enjoyment.
- Experience in managing the financial aspects of a kitchen is desirable.
- Eligibility to live and work in the UK (candidates MUST prove eligibility).
