Tonic Health is a health and wellbeing charity, established in 2016, dedicated to supporting the community of South Holland, Boston, and surrounding areas. We address gaps in support services by working closely with local communities and statutory services. Our programs focus on assisting individuals of all ages and backgrounds, including those facing mental health challenges, early-onset dementia, veterans, youth, and adults with additional needs. Leveraging lived experiences, our staff and volunteers provide non-clinical peer-led support through various groups and activities. With multiple sites and satellite centres, Tonic Health is proud to be a trusted provider of health and wellbeing support in our region, funded by grants, commercial activities, and donations.
About the Role
Tonic Health is seeking a proactive, organised and highly commercially minded Business Manager to manage and fundraise with our corporate partners, develop our profile and extend our range of revenue streams. They will also oversee the day-to-day running of the Spalding Wellbeing Hub. This is a key operational role, forming part of the charity’s Senior Leadership Team, with responsibility for ensuring smooth, efficient, and financially sustainable management across the organisation. The successful candidate will play a central role in developing relationships with current and prospective organisations and hirers as well as support the wider strategic growth of Tonic Health across its community hubs. Financial incentives offered based around income generated for the charity, over and above base salary.
Key Responsibilities
- Operational Management
- Establish, build and manage relationships with corporate partners, funders, and stakeholders
- Oversee the day-to-day operations of the Spalding Wellbeing Hub
- Manage bookings, room hire schedules, and facilities coordination
- Act as the main point of contact for hirers and building users
- Represent the organisation externally at networking events and partnership meetings
- Drive innovation to diversify income and reduce reliance on single funding sources
- Build and maintain strong relationships with existing hirers and organisations
- Actively promote the hub and Tonic Health’s services to attract new users and partners
- Identify opportunities to increase occupancy and income generation
- Represent Tonic Health professionally within the local community
- Develop corporate partnerships, sponsorships, joint community initiatives, and create fundraising opportunities
- Manage fundraising budgets and track income vs projections
- Produce reports for senior leadership and trustees
- Use financial insights to guide decision-making and investment in fundraising activity
- Contribute as a member of the Senior Leadership Team
- Support organisational planning and decision-making
- Ensure compliance with relevant policies, procedures, and regulations
- Occasionally travel to and support other Tonic Health community hubs as needed
Person Specification
Essential
- Experience in business, operations, or facilities management
- Experience in income generation, fundraising, corporate partnerships and community projects
- Strong organisational and administrative skills
- Excellent communication and relationship-building skills
- Ability to work independently and manage multiple priorities
- Proficiency in standard IT systems (e.g. Microsoft Office, finance software)
Desirable
- Experience working in the charity, community, or health sector
- Understanding of community engagement approaches
- Understanding of finance and general HR principles and practices
Additional Information
- This role is primarily based at the Spalding Wellbeing Hub
- Some travel to other local hubs and across the area will be required
- An Enhanced DBS check is mandatory for this position
