Salon apprentice required. Gain first‑hand experience working in a Superbrand salon. Full training will be provided, leading to an accredited Hair Professional qualification, which will be delivered in the salon.,

Responsibilities

  • Adhere to legal and organisational requirements for the safe use of products, tools, materials and equipment.
  • Apply safe, hygienic and effective working methods and infection control while completing hairdressing services.
  • Use communication and etiquette that meets industry requirements, suits and is appropriate to the organisation.
  • Maintain client confidentiality and comfort (modesty, privacy) throughout the service.
  • Advise clients on maintenance, complementary services and retail products.
  • Promote the salon, products and services via social channels.
  • Support salon business through bookings, payments, retail, upselling and sales.
  • Use a range of products, tools and equipment in accordance with legal requirements.
  • Maintain accurate client records.
  • Work with a team to support the salon businesses.
  • Promote environmentally sustainable practices.
  • Conduct consultations, analyse hair/scalp and perform relevant industry tests.
  • Identify contraindications or limiting factors that may affect the service.
  • Shampoo, condition and treat the hair and scalp.
  • Dry and finish hair using techniques to create the desired look.
  • Use current setting and dressing techniques to achieve client goals.
  • Cut hair using technical skills and techniques, considering balance and natural growth patterns.
  • Restyle hair for personalised short or medium cuts.
  • Complete hair colouring and lightening services using contemporary techniques.
  • Evaluate the results of the service.
  • Greeting clients.
  • Shampooing hair.
  • Supplying refreshments to clients.
  • Maintaining the presentation of the salon at all times.

Qualifications

GCSE in: English and Maths (grade A‑C or grades 4 and above).

Salary and Hours

£15,704 for your first year, then could increase depending on your age.

Job Details

National Minimum Wage rate for apprentices. Check minimum wage rates (opens in new tab). Training course Hairdressing professional (level 2).

Hours: Monday — Saturday, may include shifts, evenings and weekends. Some salons are open on Sundays, but this will be included in your shift pattern if required.

Salons will confirm shifts on the interview. 40 hours a week. Start date: Sunday 2 November 2025. Duration: 2 years.
