Duties include:
- Assemble, wire and fit electrical components and systems for new machinery according to technical drawings and specifications, ensuring all electrical components are correctly installed and functioning properly.
- Assemble and wire electrical control panels according to technical drawings and electrical schematics, mount components and other electrical devices in control panels, and perform wiring and termination tasks to ensure that control panels are properly connected and operational.
- Perform quality checks and functional testing on completed electrical assemblies/control panels to ensure compliance with safety standards, electrical protocols, and operational standards.
- Perform mechanical fitting duties requiring the ability to read and interpret engineering drawings to assemble a wide range of machinery, using a variety of techniques and tools.
- Use hand tools, power tools, and specialized electrical testing equipment to perform tasks.
- Collaborate with the engineering and production teams to troubleshoot and resolve any electrical issues during assembly/panel building.
- Keep accurate records of electrical/panel assembly processes, components used, and any modifications made during the build.
- Work to the requirements of an ISO 9001 quality management system, and ensure compliance with all quality procedures.
- Assist in continuous improvement initiatives to optimize electrical assembly/panel build processes and improve product quality.
- Comply with Health and Safety regulations and guidelines.
- From time to time, you may be required to travel to customers’ sites within the UK and internationally, to attend to any matters requiring attention.
Requirements:
- Must have successfully completed an AM2 assessment/or equivalent, having completed an approved national electrical qualification.
- Proven experience as an Electrician, Electrical Control Panel Builder, and/or Electrical Fitter.
- Ability to read and interpret electrical schematics, diagrams, and technical drawings.
- Strong understanding of electrical systems, wiring practices, control panel design and electrical safety regulations.
- Prior experience in mechanical fitting will be advantageous.
- Good attention to detail and problem-solving ability.
- Must be resident in the UK, and have the right to live and work in the UK, without the need for VISA sponsorship.
