Are you organised, customer-focused, and ready to make a difference in your local community? We are looking for a Parking Support Officer to join our busy Parking Office team, providing high-quality customer support services on a range of parking-related issues.

About the Role

  • Deliver excellent customer service to the public, handling telephone enquiries, emails, and post in a polite and efficient manner.
  • Support professional and technical officers within the parking team.
  • Undertake a wide range of clerical and administrative tasks, including financial processing, using various IT systems.
  • Manage service requests such as parking permits, season tickets, and dispensations, ensuring accurate data entry and record-keeping.
  • Participate in the team’s late duty rota and assist with payment processing.
  • Prepare draft management reports and statistical information for the Parking Support Manager.
  • Continually seek ways to improve service effectiveness and efficiency.
  • Ensure compliance with Health and Safety policies and contribute to a positive, customer-oriented team environment.

This is a part-time position. While our strong preference is for the hours to be worked across Monday to Friday to best support the needs of the service, the actual working pattern can be discussed at interview.

About You

  • A sound educational background to at least GCSE level (or equivalent) in English and Mathematics.
  • Excellent communication skills and a friendly, approachable manner.
  • Experience working in an office-based, customer service environment.
  • Strong organisational skills, attention to detail, and the ability to work both independently and as part of a team.
  • Confidence using Microsoft Office and other IT systems.
  • A flexible, positive attitude and the ability to handle enquiries of a sensitive or challenging nature.
  • An understanding of good customer care practice and equality and diversity issues.
