Overview
Lead the Engineering Team shaping the future of Tonbridge & Malling. This is a role for a qualified Civil Engineer who can apply technical knowledge to vital local projects while maintaining a healthy work–life balance and a supportive team environment.
Location: Kings Hill, West Malling (with flexible/hybrid working options)
Contract: Permanent | Full Time (37 hours per week)

About the Role
This is an exciting opportunity to lead a varied and impactful portfolio of engineering projects across the borough.
You’ll be responsible for:
- Managing and developing the Engineering team and associated budgets
- Leading projects covering car parking, drainage, land management, and more
- Advising on flood risk and working closely with partners such as the Environment Agency and Kent County Council
- Overseeing winter maintenance, bridge inspections, and electric vehicle charging infrastructure
You’ll work from our Kings Hill offices, with flexibility to work remotely and regular opportunities to be out on-site across the borough.
About You
You’ll hold a degree or HND in Civil Engineering and have a full UK driving licence.
While previous managerial experience is an advantage, we’re open to applications from technically strong candidates who are ready to develop their leadership skills with our support.
Your technical knowledge, problem-solving ability, and collaborative approach will be key to delivering safe, sustainable, and high-quality infrastructure for our residents.
