About Tom’s Studio
Tom’s Studio is a founder‑led creative lifestyle brand, designing joyful analogue tools for people who make. Our mission is simple: help people be a little more creative every day. We’ve built a strong organic presence by showing real process, real people and real creativity. The next step is building a paid content engine that does the same – but with more structure, speed and intent.
The Role
You will own in‑house produced paid video and static creative for Meta, TikTok and YouTube. Your core focus will be producing and editing at least 10 new creative assets each week – a mix of new hooks, new tests and iterations – with a focus on creative diversity and a clear testing cadence. This is our first full‑time in‑house performance creative role. You’ll be embedded within our performance marketing and content function and work closely with our agency partners – using data to inform your work, while bringing creative instinct, curiosity and new ideas into the mix. You’ll shoot, edit, iterate and organise assets end‑to‑end. You’ll help establish and evolve a weekly creative cadence and structured testing approach that aligns with our customer targets, accelerates learning and informs future output. Over time, you’ll increase the quality and volume of high‑performing ad creative, while always making sure it is both performant and brand‑aligned – ensuring we’re ‘proud of every impression’. This isn’t about making one perfect ad. It’s about building a repeatable creative system that evolves and optimises over time.
What You’ll Be Doing
- Creative Production and Editing (Core)
- Produce a high volume of short‑form video ads for paid social
- Own the process end‑to‑end – from idea through to script, filming, editing and delivery
- Rapidly iterate on existing concepts as well as develop new creative directions
- Explore tools and workflows (e.g. Canva, emerging AI tools) to increase creative velocity and variation, particularly for statics
- Adapt organic content into paid formats where relevant
- Balance speed with quality – creating brand‑conscious, performant content
- Develop a strong understanding of how Meta’s algorithm shapes creative performance, and use this to inform future content.
- Testing & Iteration
- Deliver at least 10 new creative assets per week – a mixture of new concepts, new hooks, and meaningfully differentiated re‑edits, within a consistent weekly testing cadence
- Develop and test variations across hooks, formats, pacing, messaging and structure, ensuring that our creatives speak to our defined customer personas.
- Leverage data to form hypotheses around what’s working (and not), and use these to inform future content
- Stay close to performance data and translate it into creative decisions
- Work with the team to build a continuous pipeline of new ideas
- Performance Collaboration
- Partner with the performance marketing team to align on priorities, testing plans and learnings
- Join weekly performance and editorial meetings to stay close to what’s working, and translate those learnings into stronger, more effective creative
- Keep the team and agency partners regularly informed of the ad content pipeline – what’s coming up and when it will be delivered.
- Stay up to date with platform changes (Meta, TikTok) and how they impact content strategy
- Contribute ideas for new ad concepts, formats and creative approaches
- Help scale winning concepts through iteration and expansion
- Direction & Shoot Management
- Direct others on camera where needed (including founder and wider team)
- Set up and manage shoots end‑to‑end – location, lighting, props, framing and sound
- Identify and build a network of studios to help scale content output where needed
- Confidently brief and run external shoots independently, or alongside members of the team
- Capture content efficiently and repeatedly within a studio environment
- Work collaboratively with the wider team to bring ideas to life
- Creative Insight
- Use both quantitative data and qualitative signals (comments, feedback, behaviour) to inform ideas
- Identify patterns in high‑performing content and build on them
- Keep an eye on Meta Ad Library for inspiration from other brands and best practice
- Feed insights back into the wider team where useful
What You Bring
- Strong experience creating short‑form content for paid social (Facebook/Instagram/TikTok)
- Proven ability to produce and iterate on high volumes of content
- Strong instincts for hooks, pacing, structure and what makes content perform
- Confidence and enjoyment working with data and using it to inform creative decisions
- Hands‑on skills in filming and editing (Premiere, CapCut, etc.)
- Ability to move quickly without losing clarity or intention
- Comfortable directing others and owning shoots end‑to‑end
- Organised, proactive and able to manage multiple workstreams
You’ll Thrive If You
- Enjoy testing, learning and improving – not just making one‑off pieces
- Are energised by understanding why content works
- Like working at pace and seeing ideas quickly come to life
- Bring both creative instinct and analytical thinking
- Enjoy being in a studio environment, close to the product and team
- Share our belief in helping people be a little more creative every day
