Our client is seeking an experienced Asbestos Surveyor / Analyst to join its growing team on a nuclear decommissioning site in Trawsfynydd, North Wales. This is an exciting opportunity to work within a specialist asbestos division that delivers high-quality asbestos surveying, analytical and management services as part of a globally recognised materials testing organisation. This role is ideal for an experienced asbestos professional looking to further develop their career in a technically challenging environment while contributing to major infrastructure and decommissioning projects.
Key Responsibilities
- Represent the business professionally at all times when working on client sites.
- Conduct Certificate of Reoccupation, Certificate of Cleanliness, and all asbestos air monitoring activities.
- Carry out asbestos reinspections and surveys in accordance with current legislation and industry standards.
- Produce accurate sampling information, survey reports, site plans and all associated documentation.
- Ensure quality policies and procedures are followed to maintain UKAS accreditation and authorisation status.
- Participate in internal quality assurance audits and external proficiency testing schemes.
- Keep up to date with current asbestos legislation, guidance and industry best practice.
- Maintain all relevant industry qualifications required to undertake asbestos surveying and analytical work.
- Support operational requirements by working flexibly between company offices and client sites as required.
Skills & Experience
- Applicants should possess BOHS P402, P403 and P404 qualifications (or equivalent) as a minimum.
- Proven experience undertaking Certificates of Reoccupation, Certificates of Cleanliness and asbestos air monitoring.
- Experience reviewing asbestos survey reports and air monitoring documentation.
- A strong understanding of asbestos legislation, UKAS-accredited procedures and Health & Safety requirements.
- Up-to-date knowledge of current industry developments and best practice.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills with the ability to manage workloads independently and meet deadlines.
- A logical, methodical approach with exceptional attention to detail.
- Strong interpersonal skills, a proactive attitude and the ability to work with minimal supervision.
- A flexible approach to work and travel.
- A full UK driving licence.
