We are looking for an Art Director to join the studio and help lead the design development and delivery of ambitious visual projects across design, CGI, motion, and emerging technologies.
Working closely with the Creative Directors, Executive Creative Director, and the production team, you will lead projects from concept through to delivery—maintaining exceptional creative standards while helping others produce their best work. You should be a highly capable designer with exceptional visual taste, outstanding 3D skills, and the confidence to lead teams while remaining collaborative and hands-on throughout the creative process. MUST HAVE 3D EXPERIENCE AND STRONG DESIGN CAPABILITY. Candidates without this will not be retained.
AT A GLANCE:
- Ideally, candidates have at least four years of experience working in a similar studio style and managing projects/teams across medium- to large-scale projects.
- You will be working with the Creative Directors to help support the studio's vision.
- You would join the team and take a senior role over projects to help manage artists and deliver consistency across all production areas.
- A strong eye for detail and quality will be paramount.
We must allow all of our team members to grow into and beyond their roles, supporting everyone individually to work to their strengths and continuously learn and develop new skills.
EXPERIENCE: 4+ years
SALARY: 70k+ based on experience.
STUDIO PROJECTS: Self-initiated work is crucial to our studio. We place immense importance on defining and exploring our own ideas, as this in turn will influence the type of work we are commissioned to do commercially.
MISSION:
- Oversee the design execution of projects, working to a very high standard.
- Work to fully support the generation and development of concepts — collaborating in referencing, idea exploration and research that answer the brief, and elevate it.
- Manage members of the team on a project-per-project basis.
- Plan projects efficiently, assigning responsibilities to your team and delegating work.
- Lead projects both independently or with senior creative team.
- Ability to have an overview of multiple projects at once.
- Keep an overview of technology and software advances, strive to be up to date with the best tools and working practices for the team.
ABOUT YOU:
- You are a highly capable designer with exceptional visual taste and strong 3D craft.
- You enjoy making work as much as directing it and lead by example.
- You are optimistic, ambitious, and genuinely excited by creating exceptional work.
- You hold a strong creative point of view but are always open to discussion and feedback.
- You communicate clearly and help bring out the best in those around you.
- You thrive in fast-moving environments and remain calm under pressure.
- You care deeply about craft, detail, and continually raising the quality of the work.
- You enjoy mentoring others and supporting both their creative and professional development.
- You treat people at every level with the same care and consideration.
NICE TO HAVE:
- Experience with AI image and motion workflows (Midjourney, ComfyUI, Runway, Kling, Krea, etc.).
- Interest in integrating emerging AI tools into creative production workflows.
MANAGEMENT:
- Report to the Creative Director, but we also envisage this role having a lot of autonomy.
- Working closely / in collaboration with our team of producers.
- Help support career progress, creative, technical and personal development.
