An Extraordinary Place to Work

Contract: Permanent 40 hours per week working Monday - Friday 51 weeks a year

Working pattern: Variety of shifts over the working week (Monday - Friday) between hours of 7am and 6pm

You’ll be supporting children’s learning “in the moment”, which means you’ll need to think on your feet and create activities that meet the requirements of the EYFS based on what you know the children enjoy doing.

Duties

  • Assist the Manager in overseeing the day-to-day running of the nursery or childcare facility
  • Support staff in delivering high-quality childcare and early childhood education programmes
  • Supervise and motivate team members, fostering a positive and professional working environment
  • Ensure compliance with health and safety regulations and safeguarding policies
  • Organise activities that promote children's development, learning, and well-being
  • Maintain effective communication with parents and carers regarding children's progress and centre updates
  • Support staff in planning and implementing educational activities suitable for various age groups
  • Assist with administrative tasks such as record keeping, rota management, and reporting

Requirements

  • Proven experience in childcare, nursery settings, or early childhood education
  • Strong management and leadership skills with the ability to motivate a team
  • Experience working with children of different ages and backgrounds
  • Excellent communication skills in English, both verbal and written
  • Knowledge of safeguarding procedures and health & safety standards within childcare environments
  • Ability to organise tasks efficiently whilst maintaining a caring approach towards children and staff
  • Flexibility to adapt to changing priorities within a busy childcare setting
