An Extraordinary Place to Work

Contract: Permanent

30-40 hours per week, 51 weeks a year

Working pattern: Varied Shifts working between the hours of 7:30am and 6pm Monday-Friday.

Job Summary

We currently have 9 nurseries across Warwickshire, Coventry, Birmingham and Derby and are seeking a dedicated and skilled Nursery Maintenance Operative to join our team supporting the upkeep and enhancement of our nurseries across Tommies Childcare.

Requirements

  • Must be 25 or over, have a clean valid UK driving licence.
  • Committed to safeguarding and maintaining safety around young children.
  • Excellent time keeping.
  • Previous experience in a similar field.

Duties

  • Flexible to pick up emergency work where needed.
  • Carry out duties outlined on the maintenance schedule, ensuring all tasks allocated are completed on time.
  • Ensure our nurseries remain safe, welcoming, and well-maintained.
  • Ensure compliance with health and safety regulations within the nursery environment.
  • Carry out a range of tasks including basic joinery, plumbing, painting & general building work.
  • Ensure all equipment used is clean and well maintained.
  • Comply with safe working practices & report faulty equipment and potential hazards.

Experience

  • Proven experience in reactive maintenance or a specific trade background.
  • Adaptable, proactive, and ready to take on new challenges.
  • Strong organisational skills with the ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines.
  • Trade qualifications are advantageous but not required.
