About the role

We’re looking for a Senior Compliance Executive – UK to join tombola on a 12-month maternity cover, playing a key role in strengthening our second line of defence for the UK market. This role is central to ensuring tombola operates in line with regulatory requirements, internal policies and our risk appetite — while continuing to put fairness, responsibility and player protection at the heart of everything we do. You’ll work closely with Compliance colleagues, senior stakeholders, and internal audit to provide robust compliance assurance, oversight and insight across the business.

What you’ll be doing

  • Strengthen second line of defence assurance
  • Support the design, implementation and ongoing enhancement of tombola’s compliance assurance framework for the UK market.
  • Provide independent oversight of compliance controls, identifying gaps, risks and opportunities for improvement.
  • Develop and maintain compliance policies
  • Collaborate with the wider Compliance team to develop, review and update policies and procedures.
  • Ensure alignment with regulatory requirements, industry standards and internal risk appetite.
  • Licence administration
  • Manage tombola’s licensing portfolio, ensuring ongoing compliance with licence conditions and regulatory expectations.
  • Regulatory reporting
  • Collect, analyse and validate data to deliver accurate and timely regulatory reporting in line with existing frameworks.
  • Compliance monitoring & testing
  • Deliver a robust compliance monitoring programme, including documentation reviews, testing and data analysis.
  • Identify potential issues and provide clear, practical recommendations.
  • Risk assessment & mitigation
  • Conduct compliance risk assessments, factoring in regulatory change and industry trends.
  • Design and track mitigation plans in partnership with Risk and other stakeholders.
  • Guidance, training & advice
  • Act as a subject matter expert, providing advice and guidance to teams across the business.
  • Support the development and delivery of compliance training to build awareness and accountability.
  • Assurance reporting
  • Prepare clear, insightful compliance assurance reports for senior management, committees and external stakeholders.
  • Communicate the effectiveness of controls and progress against remediation actions.
  • Stay ahead of regulation
  • Monitor regulatory developments impacting the UK market and second line assurance.
  • Translate regulatory change into practical business action.

What we’re looking for

  • Significant experience in compliance, risk or assurance, with a strong focus on second line of defence.
  • Strong understanding of UK regulatory requirements and compliance frameworks, ideally across areas such as Safer Gambling, AML, Marketing Compliance or Licensing.
  • Experience designing and executing compliance audits, monitoring or assurance activity.
  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to turn complexity into clear insight.
  • Confident communicator, able to influence and build strong relationships across all levels.
  • Highly organised, with the ability to manage multiple priorities and deadlines.
  • Proactive, self-motivated and comfortable working both independently and collaboratively.
  • A relevant professional qualification (e.g. Compliance or Risk certification) is desirable but not essential.
