We’re looking for a talented Animator to join our Brand & Demand Generation team, creating high-quality animated and motion graphic content that supports brand storytelling and drives demand across our marketing channels. This role will focus on translating creative ideas into engaging animations that capture attention, enhance user experience, and perform across paid media, social, digital advertising, and internal communications — all while aligning with tombola’s visual identity. While the role is primarily based in Sunderland, we’re open to candidates based in Gibraltar, Dublin, or working remotely. For those based outside Sunderland, there will be an expectation to travel to our Sunderland office once a month for team collaboration and planning.
Key accountabilities & responsibilities:
- Design and produce animations and motion graphics for brand and demand-led marketing campaigns, including paid media, social, display advertising, and video content.
- Collaborate closely with designers, video producers, and demand generation teams to bring static creative assets to life through animation.
- Develop storyboards, animatics, and visual concepts that support acquisition, retention, and brand campaigns.
- Ensure animations are optimised for performance across web, mobile, social media, and in-app platforms.
- Maintain consistency with brand guidelines while experimenting with innovative and engaging motion design techniques that drive attention and engagement.
- Stay up to date with trends in animation, motion graphics, and interactive media to continually enhance creative effectiveness.
- Manage multiple projects simultaneously, ensuring deadlines, quality standards, and campaign requirements are consistently met.
Skills, capabilities & experience required:
- Proven experience (3–5+ years) as an Animator or Motion Graphic Designer, ideally within gaming, digital media, or performance-led marketing environments.
- A strong portfolio or showreel demonstrating high-quality 2D and/or 3D animation, motion graphics, and video content.
- Proficiency in animation and motion design software such as After Effects, Cinema 4D, Blender, Premiere Pro, or similar.
- Strong understanding of animation principles, timing, storytelling, and visual composition.
- Experience creating animations for paid digital campaigns, social media, web, and mobile platforms.
- Excellent communication, collaboration, and organisational skills.
- Ability to manage multiple projects under tight deadlines while maintaining creative quality.
Skills, capabilities & experience desired:
- Experience using Generative AI tools to support ideation, concept exploration, or creative testing.
- Experience implementing automation to streamline animation and motion design workflows.
- Exposure to working with performance or demand generation teams and adapting creative based on campaign insights.
