We are looking for a talented and inspiring Game Design Lead to join our Game Studio team in Sunderland. This role is about leading the charge, setting the direction, and scaling our capacity for more incredible gaming experiences.

Responsibilities

• Leading the way: taking ownership of the entire game delivery process, from concept to release.
• Team champion: creating an inclusive, motivating environment where innovation thrives.
• Guiding growth: coaching and supporting squad leads to develop leadership and technical skills.
• Player-focused: collaborating with Product Management to deliver maximum value to players.
• Strategic thinker: balancing workloads with production capacity and aligning priorities with business goals.
• Architectural advocate: leading game development architecture and identifying clever technical solutions.
• Talent spotter: helping recruit brilliant minds to keep growing and innovating.

Qualifications

• Proven experience in building, leading, developing, and managing people.
• Deep understanding of gameplay creation and optimisation techniques.
• Commercial awareness to balance business needs with development desires.
• Track record of creating polished game products with strong UX.
• Understanding of animation technologies and their trade-offs.
• Knowledge of platform and browser limitations and what makes things tick.

Bonus points

• Experience with Pixi/Typescript.
• Knowledge of iOS & Android app development.
