We are seeking a dedicated and skilled Chef de Partie to join our culinary team. If you’re passionate about precision, thrive in a fast-paced kitchen, and are eager to contribute to an authentic dining experience, Rio is the place for you.

Position Overview: As a Chef de Partie, you will be responsible for running a specific section of the kitchen, whether it be hot foods, salad bar, grilling support, or prep. You’ll work closely with the Head Chef and Sous Chef to ensure consistent quality, efficient service, and full adherence to Brazilian culinary traditions.

  • Key Responsibilities:
  • Section Leadership & Cooking Execution
    • Take ownership of your designated kitchen section, ensuring preparation and service run smoothly and efficiently.
    • Prepare and cook menu items according to Rio's recipes, standards, and presentation expectations.
    • Ensure timely delivery of dishes during service, maintaining quality and portion control.
  • Preparation & Consistency
    • Execute daily prep for meats, sides, salads, or specialty items with attention to freshness, flavour, and presentation.
    • Follow mise en place protocols and ensure your station is organized, stocked, and clean at all times.
    • Maintain consistency in taste, texture, and appearance, even during high-volume service.
  • Collaboration & Communication
    • Work closely with other kitchen team members to ensure coordinated service across all stations.
    • Communicate clearly with leadership and front-of-house staff to resolve timing issues or special requests.
    • Support fellow chefs during busy periods, demonstrating teamwork and adaptability.
  • Cleanliness & Compliance
    • Adhere strictly to food safety, hygiene, and sanitation standards in all tasks.
    • Follow health department regulations and internal procedures for storage, labelling, and cleanliness.
    • Maintain a clean and organized work area before, during, and after service.

Qualifications:

  • 2+ years of experience in a professional kitchen, preferably in upscale or high-volume dining.
  • Previous experience in a Brazilian steakhouse or knowledge of Latin American cuisine is a plus.
  • Strong knife skills, attention to detail, and ability to follow recipes with precision.
  • Ability to stay calm under pressure and work efficiently during busy service hours.
  • A positive attitude, team mindset, and a passion for learning.
  • Flexibility to work evenings, weekends, and holidays as needed.
