We are seeking a reliable and proactive Warehouse Operative to join our team. The successful candidate will be responsible for ensuring the smooth operation of warehouse activities, including materials handling, stock management, and order fulfilment. This role offers an excellent opportunity to develop your skills within a dynamic steel logistics environment, contributing to efficient warehouse operations.

Shift hours are Monday to Friday 6am-2pm, then Monday to Friday Nights 10pm-6am, then Monday to Friday 2pm-10pm.

Duties:

  • Pick computer generated orders with repetitive handling/lifting of heavy and large items.
  • Shunting.
  • Accurately record stock movement and usage, along with product identification and use of measuring equipment.
  • Work efficiently and effectively as part of a team and on your own.
  • Transferring stock to its location using Forklift trucks.
  • Assisting in the overall dispatch of customers’ orders.
  • Maintain high levels of Health and Safety.
  • Be adaptable and flexible in approach to work to meet operational requirements.

Skills:

  • UK Valid Driving Licence.
  • Ability to operate a forklift or side-loader is desirable but not essential.
  • Experience with overhead cranes.
  • Attention to quality control standards to minimise errors and damage during processing.
  • Health and safety awareness.
  • Organised approach with good time management skills to meet deadlines efficiently.
