We are seeking an experienced Residential Solar PV Sales Representative to advise homeowners on renewable energy solutions, including Solar PV, battery storage, and related technologies. The role requires strong technical knowledge, a clear understanding of MCS standards, and the ability to design, explain, and sell compliant systems that deliver genuine value to customers.
You will act as a trusted technical advisor, guiding customers from initial enquiry through system design, proposal, and contract, ensuring all solutions meet MCS, DNO, and industry best-practice requirements.
- Manage inbound and high quality, warm residential solar leads from initial contact to close (no cold calling)
- Conduct site surveys (remote and in-person) to assess roof suitability, shading, orientation, and structural considerations
- Present clear, accurate proposals explaining system size, generation, savings, payback, and export benefits
- Build trust with customers through transparent, technically accurate advice
- Achieve and exceed agreed sales targets and KPIs
Required Skills & Experience:
- Proven experience selling residential Solar PV systems
- Strong understanding of MCS requirements and compliance
- In-depth technical knowledge of Solar PV and battery storage systems
- Ability to confidently explain technical concepts to non-technical customers
- Strong closing skills with an ethical, consultative sales approach
- Excellent communication and organisational skills
- Full UK driving licence
- Experience with PV design software (e.g. OpenSolar, Easy-PV, PV*Sol, SolarEdge Designer)
- Knowledge of DNO application processes (G98 / G99)
- Understanding of export tariffs (SEG) and smart metering
- Previous experience selling Solar PV products
