Estimator – Plumbing & Heating Contractor

This role involves the full estimating process to submit tenders for the plumbing & heating package for large scale new build housing contracts with a typical value from £100k to in excess of £1M. The majority of these contracts are new build housing developments.

The ideal candidate should preferably have experience in estimating domestic plumbing & heating contracts. Candidates will be considered with previous experience in construction estimating, or plumbing & heating. Excellent IT skills are preferred, with basic skills essential, particularly in the use of Microsoft Excel.

The role involves:

• Full estimating responsibility, from logging enquiry to submitting final tender
• Taking off quantities from drawings
• Pricing bills of quantities
• Reviewing specification documents in detail
• Logging all tender packages received
• Managing and prioritising an unpredictable workload
• Using in house system to formulate tenders
• Compiling tender letters to include all conditions of offer
• Assessing relevant tender qualifications
• Following up all tenders submitted
• Negotiating with clients to win contracts

The successful candidate will report directly to the managing director.

Qualifications

• Proficiency in cost control techniques
• Experience in plumbing& heating industry
• Familiarity with Microsoft Excel for data analysis
• IT skills for communication and project management
• Strong attention to detail and analytical skills
